Well 5 is more than x + 3 so you can't add 2 so the only other option would be 1 if you looking for a postitive number.

- 8< x <2 - 2 < x <8 3< x <5 -3< x <5 These are the answers, I think it might be - 8 < x <2, just not sure. Please help.

OK |x + 3 | < 5 means that -5 < x+3 < 5 take away 3 from both sides and you get -8 < x < 2 Tada!
