Is my answer right??? ;) What are the x- and y-intercepts of y = 2x2 - 10x + 8? Answer: x-intercepts: (1, 0) and (4, 0) y-intercept: (0, 4) My work: x-intercept means y = 0 ====> 0 = 2x^2 – 10x + 8 ====> (2x - 2)(x - 4) = 0 2x - 2 = 0 ===> x = 1 x - 4 = 0 ===> x = 4 (1 , 0) , (4 , 0) y-intercept means x = 0 ====> y = 2*0^2 – 10*0 + 8 ====> y = 8 ===> (0 , 8)

Good work :) Next time, try checking your work on wolframalpha! http://www.wolframalpha.com/input/?i=+y+%3D+2x2+-+10x+%2B+8+intercepts

Oh I just noticed you wrote (0,8) for y-intercept at the end but (0,4) at the start for some reason :P

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thank you!!!! :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

did i do it wrong?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

(0,8) is the correct y-intercept. You just copied it wrong or something

oh, my error
