I guess you could start either with a story that inspired you to pick your chosen career, or with the reasons for why you decided to become an RN. For example, with the story angle, you could lead off with: "I remember as as child being sick and my parents were worried that I wasn't getting any better. They took me to the hospital where doctors took care of me, but there was one nurse who always checked in to see how I and the other kids were doing. She seemed so kind and full of energy in making sure we all felt better...." ... or something to that effect. Your story could be different, but it might be inspired by something else such as what you saw on television or what you heard from others such as your parents or friends. For a more "straightforward" approach, you could probably lead in like this: "I want to become an RN is to help others. My parents have taught me that the best way that I can do good in today's world is to help others and this is something that has been with me all of my life enabling me to make this decision..." ...and go on from there. Again, your reasons may differ, but the important thing is that they should be your own. Simply start talking why you want to be an RN. Sometimes it helps to just start writing and then afterwards, you can always edit it to improve how it comes across. Just let those fingers type to put your thoughts down and then polish it up later! :)
