If you have an equation with two unknowns, isn't solving the equation as simple as plugging in numbers?

That's the brute force method...sometimes it's easy, sometimes it isn't. But it's not the way a teacher is going to want you to solve it.

Yeah that's what I think too. He's suppose to use Rational Expressions to solve it, but when we try that way it never seems to come out right.
