What is the range of the graph of y = 5(x - 2)2 + 7?

hero (hero):

\[y = 5(x-2)^2 + 7\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

any guesses for this one?

hero (hero):

Hint: Let x = 2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No guesses for this, I have NO idea how to do this

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what @Hero said, reasoning that the first term \(5(x-2)^2\) is always greater than or equal to zero, because it is a square (any number squared is non - negative) the smallest value is therefor when \(x=2\) which makes the first term 0 and the whole thing is 7

OpenStudy (anonymous):

therefore the smallest it can be is 7, which is is if \(x=2\)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no, it is \(y\geq 7\)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

reasoning is above

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'm going to write what you said down :) thank you
