If we have two vectors ,U and V such that U is not equal to V ,when are their spans the same and when are they different?

if u have
\[ \large V=\text{span}\{v\} \]
and
\[ \large U=\text{span}\{u\} \]
then U=V if and only if {u,v} is linearly dependant.
