if the original has a hypotenuse of \[\sqrt{2}\] and the image has a hypotenuse of \[n \sqrt{2}\] the ratio is image:original or image/original \[\frac{n \sqrt{2}}{\sqrt{2}}\] which can be simplified by cancelling the common factor
