Yes it does affects sucrose, sucrose is taken but won't just keep in the body which means it should be used or stored. To be stored it should be change to glycogen, to do that there is a need of oxygen, as we know yeasts doesn't use oxygen, then the sugar will be used. So the more sucrose added the more will be the respiration.
