Given vector v = [5,-1] An equivalent vector PQ has its initial point at P(-2,-7). Find point Q.

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

add 5 to the x coordinate of P to get the x coordinate of Q add -1 to the y coordinate of P to get the y coordinate of Q

OpenStudy (anonymous):

why is that?

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

because PQ is an equivalent vector

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

and v = [5, -1] means go 5 units to the right, then 1 unit down
