assume that 21 year old womens heart rate at rest are normally distributed with a nean of 70 bpm and a standard deviation of 8 bpm. if 300 women are examined how many would ypu expect to have a heart rate of less than 74?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what % is included into the standard deviation.... i've forgotten this =/

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it would be nearly 70+% ,

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Is it 210?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@outkast but it is half standard deviation .

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@adorebea84 not sure but near by it.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you sure it's half a standard deviation... 70 to 74 is half a standard deviation but it's asking less than 74. wouldn't that mean all values within the standard deviation below 70 also ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

<--- haven't taken statistics, going on knowledge from ENG physics
