What quadrant is (8,7) in?

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

Hint: |dw:1354140634197:dw|

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

|dw:1354140669242:dw|

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

( + , +) means x and y are both positive (-, +) means that x is negative, y is positive (-, -) means that both x and y are negative (+, -) means that x is positive, y is negative

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I know those thank you very much!

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

ok great, i'd print that out or write them down in your notebook in case you forget

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yeah I will and it also says Jonathan is selling containers of pencils for 4.00 a container. Draw a graph to show his possible income from sales.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

How do I do that.

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

if x = # of containers sold, then y = 4x where y is the amount of sales or revenue

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

so you need to graph y = 4x

OpenStudy (anonymous):

How

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

you need two points when x = 0, y = 4x ---> y = 4(0) ---> y = 0 so when x = 0, y = 0 giving us one point (0,0) when x = 1, y = 4x ---> y = 4(1) ---> y = 4 so when x = 1, y = 4 giving us one point (1,4)

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

we now have two points (0,0) and (1,4) plot them then draw a straight line through them

OpenStudy (anonymous):

O ok

OpenStudy (anonymous):

How do you send medals

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Never miind I sent you a medal
