What were some common Chicano culture stereotypes that existed during this time frame(late 60s early 70s)0? What were Mexican-Americans “doing” during this time (working, political involvements, etc)?

I googled and came up with this. Mexican-Americans were called Mexicans during that time and they worked in low-skill laborers jobs, or in the hundreds of factories, and warehouses. Many worked for the railroads pulling up old and laying new track. Those elsewhere were braceros in the fields , in the orchards and vineyards and truck farms. Everybody worked. The peso was worth 12 1/2 cents. Also, political involvement was non-existent for most Mexicans except for a few college students. Their efforts were spent on national issues surrounding Cesar Chavez.
