the length of AE is half of AC and AC=BD so that means AE is also half of BD so (10x+2)/2=AE 5x+1=AE now set this equal to the AE=3x+5 5x+1=3x+5 2x=4 x=2 AC=10(x)+2 so just plug x in and you'll find AC
