Bradley answered 80% of the questions on his science test correctly. There were 30 questions on the test and all the questions had equal value. How many questions did Bradley NOT answer correctly on his test?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so like last time take your percentage into a decimal then multiply by your main number

OpenStudy (anonymous):

except this time your going to take 30 minus your answer

OpenStudy (anonymous):

O.O

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hahaha ok one step at a time your percentage is 80% , change it into a decimal

OpenStudy (anonymous):

uhhh O.O

OpenStudy (anonymous):

To convert a percentage to a decimal you can simply move the decimal two places to the left. 80% = 0.80

OpenStudy (anonymous):

kay .

OpenStudy (anonymous):

divide by 100 in other words

OpenStudy (anonymous):

then take that .8 and times it by your main number 30

OpenStudy (anonymous):

30 x .8 = ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Is the answer 24 O.O

OpenStudy (anonymous):

not yet, now since it wants the ones he DIDNT answer corectly take 30-24

OpenStudy (anonymous):

6?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

correct :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You can skip the last step altogether since you know it's asking how many he did not get correct. Simply convert 20% to a decimal and multiply that by the total amount of questions.
