Could someone please check to see if i'm right. without graphing, tell how many x intercepts y= -3x^2+4+4 has 0,1,2,3 intercepts i thinks its 2. y=2x^2+4x+2 0,1,2,4 intercepts i think its 1. Thanks

OpenStudy (nubeer):

nop.. its not 1

x-intercepts are when y=0 right? so solve for 0=-3x^2+4+4 and 0=2x^2+4x+2 If you've learned the quadratic formula, you can use that to find out how many answers you are. Use b^2-4ac. If it's positive, there are 2 solutions, if it's 0 there is 1 solution and if it's negative there are 0 solutions.

Did i get it 0--3^2+4+4 is 2 intercepts and 0-2x^2+4+2 has o intercepts
