Ok so a matrix is just a big structure composed of numbers. Each matrix is composed of elements. For example, the two matrices in question 7 that you posted are 2 x 3 matrices. That is the matrix is made up of 2 ROWS of numbers by 3 COLUMNS of numbers.

Look at the picture you posted.

Each ELEMENT has a position in the matrix. For example in the FIRST matrix ( the one on the left) element (1,1) (first row, first column) is -8. In the SECOND matrix, element (1,1) is -2. You are adding the matrices together. So all you do is add those elements together. What is -8 + -2? It's -10. Do that for EACH element in the problem and you will have your answer.
