OpenStudy (anonymous):

how do you find the absolute min. value of f on [-pi, pi]? do i need to know the unit circle? Because I dont see -pi, pi on there

OpenStudy (xkehaulanix):

If f is a function, it's probably telling you to find the lowest value on the interval from -pi to pi. You shouldn't need a unit circle in that case; you probably need to take the first derivative of the function and solve for the maximum and minimum.
