Which of the following points are on the line given by the equation y =1/2 x? Check all that apply. A.(3, 6) B.(4, 2) C.(3, 15) D.(2, 1) E.(-2, -1) F.(-2, 1)

Do you know rise over run?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

kind of

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So start your graph on the point (0,0), then you are going to use rise over run from your 1/2. The 1 is rise, and the 2 is run. So your graph will rise 1, and "run" (move to the right) 2.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So your next point from (0,0) is going to be (1,2) and next you will have (2,4)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

a faster way is to take your points (x,y) and put in the equations. Example a) (3,6) y=1/2(3) because x value is 3 and so y=3/2 and that is not 6 so a is not a good answer.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so what are your answer?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

B AND D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

is that right ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

missing one

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

B and d are good but look at E
