If AB is parallel to CD and the slope of CD is -8, what is the slope of AB ?

OpenStudy (xkehaulanix):

If AB and CD are parallel, they will never intersect on a graph. That being said, if the slope of CD is different from AB at all, they'll intersect at some point later on. So AB and CD have the same slope.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

they are parallel lines means they have the same slope

OpenStudy (raden):

m1 = m2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so it would be -8?

OpenStudy (raden):

sure

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes
