7x +3<2x - 12 7x-2x+3 <2x -2x-12 adding -2x to both sides 5x+3<-12 cancelling +2x-2x on right side and solving 7x-2x=5x on left side 5x +3 -3 < -12 -3 adding -3 to both sides 5x< -15 cancelling +3-3 on left side and solving -12-3=-15 5x/5 < -15/5 dividing both sides with 5 x< -3
