OpenStudy (anonymous):

If adenine paired with guanine and cytosine paired with thymine in DNA, what would be the outcome?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The sequential information would be lost

OpenStudy (aaronq):

they wouldn't. but if for some reason they did, the hydrogen bonding between the bases would inconsistent, it would disrupt the shape of the DNA strand and it's stability. (i'm assuming it's DNA because only DNA has thymine) A - T form 2 hydrogen bonds, G-C form 3 hydrogen bonds
