Write the following polynomial in descending powers of the variable with no missing powers. 2x^5+x^3-7x+14

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[2x ^{5}+x ^{3}-7x+14\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i may be wrong, but this is already in descending order, so i think they want you to write something silly like \[2x ^{5}+0x^4+x ^{3}+0x^2-7x+14\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

2x^5 + 0x^4 + x^3 + 0x^2 - 7x + 14 5,4,3,2.1 The x's with a zero coefficient do not change the problem. This is used in synthetic division as a place holder. If you don't know what that is it doesn't matter.

ok perfect thanks
