umm I haven't been using OS for only God knows how long but as I like to keep up with what's going on, I just wanted to find out the state of OS and my question's pretty simple... more like a revision, doesn't hurt to do one :P :)

Where has OS come from (the idea & history) ? Where is it going (the goal)? and where is it at the moment (current status) ?
