Elena buys several shares of stock at $28 per share and sells them at $24.50 per share. What is the percent of decrease in the price of the stock
do you know how to take percentage?
no @Mashy But im learning
ok.. percentage is basically out of 100 for example. if i say i scored 9 of 10.. then if i wanna know what my percentage score is.. then all i have to do is how much would i score out of 100.. and taht comes out to 90.. so 90 percentage.. is that clear?
yea
if i tell you.. i scored 4 out of 5.. whats my percentage score?
0.2?
idk
you do the cross multiplication 4 --- 5 ? --- 100 4 X 100 / 5.. how much does that yeild?
80?
@Mashy
perfect.. so thats how you do cross multiplication.. let me give you one more i i say.. i scored 50% percent.. how much did i score out of 25
ohh i see where you going okay now 24.5*100/28 right
no.. the question is .. what is the percentage DECREASE??.. so first find the decrease.. then find the percentage decrease!
ohh okay
idk
tell me how much is the decrease?
The difference is $3.50. The percent decrease is therefore the difference divided by the original price: (3.50/28) x 100% = 12.5%???
oh.. i love you :D.. correct!!
thanks
