OpenStudy (safari321):

Does anyone know the equation that represents the line that passes through (-3,2) and is perpendicular to the graph of x-2y=7?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

First solve for y in the equation of the line. Perpendicular means the slope of your new line will be the negative reciprocal of the slope of the first line. You'll get an equation that looks like y=mx+b. You know m (negative reciprocal), you have a point x,y (-3,2), plug them in and solve for b!
