find the least common multiple. x^2-8x, x^2+8x

OpenStudy (tkhunny):

FACTOR FACTOR FACTOR Let's see what you get.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

2x

OpenStudy (tkhunny):

?? That doesn't look factored to me. And, you're looking for an LCM, not a GCF.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok, so what am I doing wrong ?

OpenStudy (tkhunny):

Did you factor them both? Show me that.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I have no idea ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

is it x^2(x^2 -64) ?

OpenStudy (tkhunny):

I do not believe that you have no idea. \(x^{2} −8x = x(x−8) \) Are you saying you can't do that? It's the Distributive Property. Please show me the other one.

OpenStudy (tkhunny):

...and No, that is not the LCM.
