1. Mediates dehydration synthesis and hydrolysis of organic compounds along with the specific enzymes. 2. Used in the construction of DNA and RNA. The Adenine of ATP is used to cople with the thymine. 3. Used in photosynthesis to fuel the Calvin cycle. 4. Necessary for ions like sodium and potasium to enter and leave the cell.
