When comparing a square and a rectangle, one major difference is: Squares must have four 90˚ angles. Rectangles do not have to have all 90˚ angles. Squares have diagonals that bisect each other. Rectangles have diagonals that are perpendicular. Squares have two sets of equal sides. Rectangles have only one set of parallel sides. Squares have four equal sides, rectangles have two pairs of equal opposite sides.
