For the first setp, take the square of both sides.

ok.....how do i do that...can those numbers be squared

sqrt(5x-2)^2=sqrt(3x)^2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

When take the square you cancel out the exponent with the indice of the root.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

And so you got 5x-2=3x. Just make some algebra and you will solve the equation.
