Week 6 for the first group of Mech MOOCers and week 1 for the second group! How's it going out there?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

trying to catch up. hopefully will be done shortly

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'm a week behind (in Week 5) in the first group. As the problems increase in complexity, I'll simply say what many others have been saying for months: why is there no search engine in OpenStudy? Without a search tool it's increasingly difficult to get help, compare notes, brainstorm etc.

OpenStudy (andrew.m.higgs):

Having fun. @JohnM, I am sure you can just ask again. I know it is better to find previous questions and not repeat, but I am sure people here won't mind to much. :-)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thanks to andew_higgs, but usually I'm pressed for time. I'll just skip the practice question if I can't easily find it in OpenStudy and hope I haven't missed too much.

OpenStudy (andrew.m.higgs):

Pity, time is something we never seem to have enough of... :-)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

do we have to submit the MOOC excercises somewhere? and is it possible to leave the first group and join the second group as i am behind.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Loving it and learning lots. There is more work here than in most Universtiy courses.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@JohnM The OpenStudy site is more built around realtime interaction, so yes, feel free to repeat a question--answering questions is a learning opportunity for someone else. But, yes, we've shared with the OpenStudy team that many people would like search. @cyberdemon93 You can post work here for responses from other learners, but there is no official place to submit work. and you absolutely can roll back to the second group if you want. Just let us know at mooc-e@p2pu.org using the e-mail you registered with and we'll bump you back. It's how we designed the course--so you have better options than just dropping out or feeling overwhelmed.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@MOOC-E I have registered for the second group on the mooc homepage (twice) but I have yet to receive any email assignments or instructions. I have the account here, and CodeAcademy, and I've worked through the assignment for week1 on ocw. I'm just working from the Course Sequence link on the mooc blog, and it took me a while to stumble upon it. The Start Here link leads to a friendly paragraph that does not really tell you how to start, but suggests reading past emails, none of which say exactly what to do.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@marlacparker Good point on the "Start here" page. It predates the posting of the course sequence. We'll revisit it! In the mean time, e-mail mooc-e@p2pu.org using the e-mail you registered with, and we'll check in your registration. Also check your spam filter, please.
