Find the average value fave of the function f on the given interval.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[16\sec ^{2}(\theta/2), [0,\pi/2]\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I get 32/pi but it turns out wrong.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[\frac{32}{\pi}\int \sec^2(\frac{\theta}{2})d\theta\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i mean \[\frac{32}{\pi}\int_0^{\frac{\pi}{2}} \sec^2(\frac{\theta}{2})d\theta\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

anti derivative of \(\sec^2(\frac{\theta}{2})\) is \( 2\tan(\frac{\theta}{2})\) maybe that is what went wrong

OpenStudy (anonymous):

evaluate at \(\frac{\pi}{2}\) get 2, 0 gives 0 so it should be \(\frac{64}{\pi}\) i think

OpenStudy (anonymous):

awesome thanks you so much
