Except for small variations, a planet's orbit around the Sun is elliptical, with the Sun at one focus. The perihelion or minimum distance from the planet Mercury to the Sun is about 46 million kilometers. Its aphelion or maximum distance from the Sun is approximately 70 million kilometers. Assume this orbit is a central ellipse on the coordinate grid. (a) Find the coordinate of the Sun; (b) Find the length 2a of the major axis, and the length 2b of the minor axis; (c) Determine the equation model for the orbit of Mercury in standard form.
