I can help :P

OpenStudy (anonymous):

aaah..thanks!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Spectrum

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Haha I'm already here ..okay lets do the first one first shall we? ...from one term to the next what is happening..what i am saying is ..how do you get the next term each time? subtract 2 or add 6 or what?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it is going down 2?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

correct if term 1 is -4 and you subtract 2 every time ..what do you think you need to do?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

do it 100 times lol..but how would i do that in an easier way

OpenStudy (anonymous):

-4 is term 1 so you need to add 2 btw...its not subtract ...99 times... so -4 + 2(99)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

-4 and add 2 to that 99 times ...so -4 + 198 ...which is the same as 198 -4

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i got 194

OpenStudy (anonymous):

correct ^.^ so 194 is the 100 term

OpenStudy (anonymous):

using the way i taught you ..do you think you could do the others? ..lets try the second one

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay the second one is Find the 50th term of the sequence -5, -9, -13,.... -5 is the first term and you subtract 4 everytime ..so what do you think you need to do?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

4(49)?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

4(49) is the amount you would be dealing with and you need to subtract it from -5 :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

191?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

mhmm :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok so for the third one..the numbers arent constant

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you are multiplying by negative 2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

-1 x -2 = 2 x -2 = -4 x -2 = 8 ...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so how would i incorporate 5o in that?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

tbh if you had a calculator i would just multiply by -2 23 times since its not so many

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh yes! i meant 23 not 50..sorry

OpenStudy (anonymous):

-46?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no it is much much more ....the best way to do this is -2^22

OpenStudy (anonymous):

-4194304 ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

mhmmm

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok, so what about the last one?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

1/5(10)?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no ....its divided by 4 10 times

OpenStudy (anonymous):

-1/5 /4 = -1/20 /4 = -1/80 and so on ...10 times

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok..is there an easier way to find the 10 term for all of that? @Spectrum

OpenStudy (anonymous):

to find the 10 sequence..do i have to do it 10 times

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah ...just put -1/5 and then divide by 4 hit enter ...then dont press anything else but divide by 4 ..then you shouldbe at the 3rd term just hit enter 7 more times

OpenStudy (anonymous):

there is a way to do it -1/5(1/4)^10

OpenStudy (anonymous):

1.907?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no thats -1.907 x 10^-7 which is scientific way to write it ..... properly it would be 0.0000001907 normally ..okay?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

-0.0000001907*

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanks!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no problem :)
