Can anyone help me understand how to write a Literary Analysis better? Like an example? :/

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What is the problem you encounter with Literary Analysis essays? The introduction? The thesis statement?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'm not sure exactly what it means, they did not give us an example. Am I just explaining the story? Am I focused more on the way its written?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You examine and evaluate the story carefully; so you break information basically into significant details in order to explain the story's quality.

Are you still confuse with what a Literary Analysis essay's purpose is?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A bit, but this helped.

Yay, that's good to hear! You perhaps need an example to clarify the confusion?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Let's say I wrote a Literary Analysis essay for the novel, Catcher of The Rye. The introduction paragraph will advert the audience's interest and consist a clear thesis statement: Salinger animates a young fictional university-age man named Holden Caufield to exemplify the psychological issues Caufield suffers towards society. . The body (or developmental paragraphs) provides sufficient evidences and commentaries that intertwines with the thesis statement coherently. Use direct quotations, selective details, or paraphrase as evidence from the story: Caufield attempts to avoid reality when he discusses a run-away plan with his ex-girlfriend to desolate in a seclude area and to raise a family of children. Caufield wants to raise children because he admires their entitled innocence; whereas society display filthy grown adults who cheat and lust discreetly. Does the example provide any help for you?

Very much so thank you lots!

No problem, I'm happy I helped!
