A magazine asks its readers to call in their opinion regarding the amount of advertising in the present issue. What type of sampling is used? A. Simple Random B. Systematic C. Convenience D. Cluster E. Stratified
Simple Random
The readers of a particular magazine are not random. @laurenbae You could look up each of the terms, and the answer would jump out at you. Or, you could look at each sampling type and guess based on what the words mean in every day use, and you would probably be right. Think of it this way: Magazine employee 1: We need to do some research. Magazine employee 2: Okay, we could start by obtaining a random sample of the population... Magazine employee 1: Meh. Just put a call out in the magazine.
It's a Convenience sample.
