Plz help have the meanest teacher Rosa is planting bulbs in her garden. She can plant 3 bulbs every 2 minutes. How long will it take her to plant 57 bulbs?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well 3 bulbs every 2 minutes means 1 bulbs every 2/3 of a minute right? So 57*2/3 minutes =?

OpenStudy (jackellyn):

You can do this as a ratio If Rosa can plant 3 bulbs ------ 2 minutes the questions wants to know 57 bulbs ------- x minutes so 3 bulbs 57 bulbs ------ = --------- 2 minutes x min you can cross multiply and solve for x

Jackellyn's way is probably better, more systematic.
