Describe how you would graph this line using the slope-intercept method. Be sure to write in complete sentences. y = 1/3x + 3 –x + 3y = 9

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Do you know how to graph a line?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh. Um.. Okay. The y- intercept is where the line hits the y axis|dw:1354668229360:dw|

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The slope is the angle the line goes at. Or, Rise/Run which is the number of squares counting up over the number of squares across. |dw:1354668306186:dw|

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Up 3, over one. Which is 3/1= 3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So to graph y= 1/3x + 3, 1/3 is the slope. So, 1 up, 3 across. 3 is the y intercept, so the line is starts on that point. Do you get it?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok noow i get it!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Haha okay good :) Now you have to describe that in complete sentences.
