1/x = 6/5x + 1

Well change 1/x to 5/5x by multiplying the numerator and denominator by 5 so that 6/5x and 1/x now have a common denominator. Now subtract 6/5x from 5/5x to get -1/5x = 1 Multiply both sides by -1 to get 5x = -1 Divide both sides by 5 to get x = -1/5 I checked with a calc and this is right!
