If matrix A has dimensions 6 x 6 and matrix B has dimensions 6 x 1, what will be the dimensions of the product matrix of A and B?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i thought it was 6x6 but its not is it 6x1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A = {6x6} (m1 = 6 n1 = 6) B = {6x1} (m2 = 6 n2 = 1) A * B n1 must equal m2 for the matrix to work The matrix size is {m1 x n2} or {6 x 1} Let me know if that doesn't make sense

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so it is 6x1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes. The size of the product is the first number of the first matrix by the second number of the second matrix

thank you
