How to convert 112degrees30' to degrees?
I'm really not sure what it even means.
' is a symbol for minutes. 60' = 1 degreee, so 30' = 0.5 degree.
Okay, well I'm asked to use the half angle formulas to determine the exact values of the sine, cosine, and tangent of that angle, do you know how I'd do that?
Minutes as a fraction of degrees work like minutes as a fraction of hours. There are 60 minutes of a degree in a degree and there are 60 minutes of an hour in an hour. Just like you can say 5 hours and 30 minutes and it means 5 and a half hours, so with degrees, 10 degrees and 30 minutes means 10 and a half degrees.
Thank you!
And don't worry about my other question, I figured it out. :)
112.5 degrees is half of 225 degrees. 225 degrees is an angles of 45 degrees in quadrant 3.
Since you know sin, cos, tan for 45 degrees, and sin, cos, tan for 225 degrees are similar with just different signs, you can figure out sin, cos, tan of 112.5 degrees
