One root of each equation below is the same for every equation. What is this root? a) 10x^3-25x^2-15x=0 b)6x^3+45x-33x^2=0 c)3x^4+14x^3+8x^2=0 d)18x^4-50x^2=0

OpenStudy (tamtoan):

all the terms have x, what is x that can make them all equal to zero ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

idk i think you have to factor

OpenStudy (tamtoan):

you can , but it's not necessarily, take the first equation...what is one value of x that you can think of right away that make the left side equal to zero ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ummmmmm 3

OpenStudy (tamtoan):

hint, all the terms have x in it :), can you try to put 3 in to see if the left side of the first equation equal to zero?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so now i have to find it's root

OpenStudy (tamtoan):

you don't have to find roots, the question ask for only 1 simple root.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OH

OpenStudy (tamtoan):

can you get it quick ?

OpenStudy (tamtoan):

alright, i am going to bed soon, so i'll just help you complete this ...think of all the terms have x and if x=0 ...does that make all of them equal to zero...left side = right side..:)
