By using Pythagorean Theorem you know that a^2 + b^2 = c^2 a= base b = height c = hypotenuse (which we need to find to add all the sides) 12^2 + 16^2 = c^2 When you solve this you get c= 20 When you add all sides 12 +16 +20 = 48 being this the perimeter
i think if 48 is right then I understand
\[c = \sqrt{144+256} = 20\] 20+16+12 = 48
