what is your question?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

find sin tan^-1 (-1/2)?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sin ( arc tan (-1/2)) = ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sorry no

OpenStudy (anonymous):

let tan^(-1)(-1/2)=A then tanA=-1/2 this gives sinA/cosA=-1/2, sinA/sqrt(1-sin^2(A))=-1/2 (since cos^2(A)+sin^2(A)=1),this gives us sinA=+-1/sqrt(5), the question sin(tan^(-1)(-1/2))=sinA=+-1/sqrt(5).
