Compute dim(span(v1, v2, v3, v4)) and find a basis of the vector space span(v1, v2, v3, v4), where v1 = (1, 2, 2, 2, 2, 1), v2 = (1, 0, 1, 1, 0, 1), v3 = (0, 1, 0, 0, 1, 0), v4 = (3, 2, 1, 1, 2, 3). Does anybody know how I could start this?

OpenStudy (helder_edwin):

put the vectors into a matrix as rows and then row-reduce the matrix. the remaining vectors will be linearly independent and will form the basis u r looking for. the dimension will be of course the rank of the matrix.

Great thank you :)

u r welcome
