I need help please it is really IMPORTANT!! Please and Thank You

wuts up?

find the equation of the line that passes through (8,15) and is perpendicular to y = 4/3x + 6

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Just doing math, do I know you because I feel like I do..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@ethompsonn

OpenStudy (binary3i):

slope of the line perpendiculer to y=4/3x+6 will be -3/4 so the equation of that line is Y=-3X/4 + c we know that it pass through (8,15) so plug it into equation 15=-6+c c=21 so the equation is Y=-3X/4 +21

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OMG thank you so much...

OpenStudy (binary3i):

you'r welcome

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@binary3i At what point does the line given by the following equation cross the y-axis? y = 6/9x+ 8

OpenStudy (binary3i):

i dint get you? do you mean at what point the line cuts the y axis?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It crosses the y axis, and the y value is 0. So set y to 0 in your equation, and solve for x.

OpenStudy (binary3i):

y=0 in equation 0=6/9x+8 x=-12 so the point is (-12,0)
