Latoya is growing a sunflower plant in her garden. Three times a week she waters it and measures its height. Susan wants to see how long it takes for the sunflower to reach her height of 4.5 feet. She records the growth on a graph. Is this an example of a discrete or continuous function? Explain.

This is a discrete function because of the gaps between measurement. Really, even taking a video motion picture is still discrete because a video still only does a certain number of frames per second.
