What characteristics and beliefs of the three religions make them different?
There are more than 3 religions, firstly. But I am assuming you are referring to Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. The Jewish religion believes that Jesus was a prophet, but not the son of God. Essentially, Judaism is the "Old Testament" in the Christian bible. The "New Testament" of course being the coming of Jesus Christ and his life. Christianity is made up of both the Old Testament, and the New Testament. The Old Testament is essentially the Jewish Torah, and the new testament is the coming of Christ. Islam, I am not quite as familiar with personally. My understanding is essentially that Jesus was a prophet, as were many other biblical figures, but it introduces an additional prophet, Mohammed. The emphasis is taken off of Jesus, and placed on Mohammed instead. These are just some of the major differences.
