I am writing a paper for my History class on the Irish Potato Famine and I can't seem to formulate a thesis or topic sentence

Thesis Statement: What you believe about the topic + Why you believe it. You make a claim about the topic (what you believe) and state a reason you believe it, in one sentence, and you have a Thesis Statement. As long as you understand enough about the IPF to have an opinion about it and say why you have the opinion, it will be easy.
