kilo is 1000, just think if it as 1k = 1000 and the k stands for 1000.

oh okay, thank you. and the next question is which of the following prefixes represents the biggest number? kilo, hector, centi, mili. i dont know what hector is though, and i know it isnt centi.

again the answer is kilo, i think they made up hector to throw you off. centi is used in centimeter, it means 0.01.
