a tree is 50 feet high and casts a shado of 30 feet. at the same time a near by stop sign casts a shadow or 15 feet. How tall is the stop sign. But really, those werent the exact numbers...I just need the formula to figure out that type of problem.

Well, that's the thing. I don't have the actual numbers. It was a question on a NWEA that I didn't finish. It was my last question before I was done. And for the life of me I can't remember.
Ratio seem to increase by a factor of 2, so x should be 15
